Ramification Of Marijuana Use

To combat the age old argument that marijuana is a gateway drug, proponents of the drug may provide a list of beneficial properties of marijuana use. While some facts may have been well researched, it is important to take a look at the real and serious ramification of dependence and abuse of this seemingly harmless drug.

There has been a misrepresentation of effects of marijuana use. A large population choose to use this drug believing it is harmless and can even be good for you. Many people are misinformed by the data and research gathered on marijuana plants that are much milder and are from very different strands than what is being abused today.

Contrary to many users’ popular belief, there are many side effects to marijuana use. It has a tremendously negative effect on sufferers of depression and renders any medication they are taking useless. It can be a disincentive for seeking healthy proactive pleasure activities, thereby, making the body more lethargic.

Many people seem to forget that it is also illegal and use and possession of it can lead to fines, arrest and possible jail time. Marijuana, whether we like it or not, is not legal in USA. Yes, there are exceptions of recreational and medicinal use in a few states, but these are exceptions; it is still federally not legal and people have suffered criminal consequences even in the states where it is technically allowed.

The bottom line is that any psychoactive drugs need to be used with caution. Continued use of marijuana will increase the tolerance level in the body. In America marijuana is still not yet legal according to federal laws. It has limited recreational and medicinal use in a few states that are sold in herbal forms, not lab tested or FDA approved.

The human body, your body, is precious and sensitive. Make sure you know what it is you are putting into your body and how it will affect you both in short and long term.
